Top 10 Things To Do In Paris
6 Champs Elysees
A street named Champs-Elysees. One of the most famous
in the world. The Arc de Triomphe and the Palace de la Concorde
separated by endless money litening opportunities from the many
shops and restaurants inbetween.
A good spot for window shopping. It’s the same the world
over, prices increase with the number of tourists. There are a lot
of tourists walking down the Champs-Elysees.
Whilst often crowded the distance between the Arc and the Palace
is walkable. Take your time, it is not a race.
7 Canal St-Martin
Canal St-Martin was in the supporting cast of the
movie Amélie.Nice spot to walk, relax, watch the Barges go
by and maybe gently, throw a peddle or two.
You'll find the Canal St-Martin on the east of central
Paris. The Canal links to ends of the River Seine.
Tours are available taking you through the Canal's
many locks and an attractive tunnel. Pick a sunny day, if you can,
to get the most out of it.
8 Musee d'Orsay
The Musee d'Orsay resides in old railway station in
a wonderful setting. It is love, art and history that 'gets' people
of all walks of life.
The converted railway station is imposing in structure yet welcoming
in style.
The Musee d'Orsay provides the perfect platform for viewing an
extensive collection of classic impressionist paintings and original
sculptures.
9 Moulin Rouge
Can the Can-Can can still cram people in? You bet. You will be
squeezed in watching wonderful, timeless dancing in fantastic costumes.
There are probably cheaper ways to see a Can-Can but this is the
Moulin Rouge. Look for special deals and consider booking on-line.
And are they miming? Who cares. Just enjoy the spectacle.
Some might find this seedie but that is part of the Moulin Rouge's
history. Not for everybody but the Moulin Rouge never was.
10 La Grande Arche de La Defense
Is an Arch lessor to an Arc I say No! This is different. This is
a different feel in an altogether and a different part of Paris.
The Grande Arche is worth the trip there and the trip up. The view
is fascinating as opposed to spectacular. Paris is huge. If you
don't already live in a mega city you should see it. If you do,
reflect and compare. Maybe you'll feel you are still in Paris when
you return home or maybe part of you just never leaves.
